If you are a beer lover than a pilgrimage to the heart of Irish beer is a must. The tour is strictly that but the finish with a pint in hand overlooking the city of Dublin from the top of the 6 story pint shaped atrium is awesome. We went during the off-season so the lines weren't bad but can imagine in the Summer it would be bad.
Being of Irish descent it’s purely sacrilegious to visit the motherland and not get the freshest pint of mother’s milk! The closer you get to Ireland the better the Guinness tastes and it doesn’t get any better than on the top floor in the gravity bar with a gorgeous view of all of Dublin. The walkthrough/tour is almost one giant advertising campaign (which is almost o.k. for the simple fact that Guinness has had some of the best adverts for over 200 years) . The learn how to pour the perfect pint portion of the tour is definitely worthwhile but make sure you don’t wait to late in the day because they do close it down about 45 minutes before the rest of the tour. I would also advise to book your tickets in advance because you do get a slight discount (which is always helpful when dealing with the Euro to U.S. dollar exchange rate!)
