Beer and technology go together. Isn’t facebook and twitter much more fun when you have had a couple of brews? Aren’t you amazing at photo hunt at the local watering hole? How about utilizing Beer Universe for cataloging all of your ratings or reviews? (We’re not biased…) But let’s face it, technology and beer just work.
The 17th annual California Brewers Festival on September 17, 2011 will be hosted at the Discovery Park in Sacramento, CA. The festival is held by Rotary Club of Point West Sacramento, which has helped raise over $250,000 through the event for local charities. This year the festival is once again in partnership with the Assistance League of Sacramento. Proceeds from the event donated to the Assistance League will support Operation School Bell providing clothing and school supplies to children in need in the Sacramento area.
This year we have commitments from over 60 Brewers that will be pouring over 160 different brews throughout the day. The festival will give you a brew cup, brew tokens and you taste whatever you want. And the best part? You're enjoying unique beers while helping local charities!
Your ticket gets you in the gate for 10 samples (additional samples at $1/per sample). Additionally, the festival will have live bands performing, a selection of food vendors, cigar selections and more.
This year, the California Brewers Festival has partnered up with us to provide a free iPhone application to all of their patrons. Specifically, the California Brewers Festival application powered by Beer Universe will allow users to view the list of breweries and beers at the festival, rate and take notes on beers, and see additional information about festival events. Patrons will be able to retrieve their ratings through the application as well as online through Beer Universe.
Commenting on the partnership, Director of the California Brewers Festival Toney Sebra said, “We are especially excited about our partnership with Beer Universe and taking our event to the next level with a new California Brewers Festival iPhone application! We hope that everyone is able to download the free application so they can track their ratings throughout the festival.”
The festival wants to remind everyone to please drink responsibly so that everyone can have a great time at the event! The iPhone app will be available through Apple’s App Store and will be free to all consumers.
