Pours a translucent orange amber. Two inches of thick white head. After it recededs I believe this is the thickest stickiest lacing I've ever seen. It coats the glass like gobs of pudding. The aroma is super piney, floral hops abound through the nostrils. Grapefruit and lemon are present as well. The flavor much smother then I expected. The hop kick is there but, the malt comes in and mellows everything out. It's piney and bitter fruit yet smooth like bourbon. Medium to full body little carbonation. Slight warming effect. I find this to be a perfect balance of hops and malt. I know why everyone holds this beer in such high regard.

This is a very good IPA, probably one of the best you will ever find. The hop bomb in this beer is just outstanding and everything just evens itself out in the end. If you love IPAs get a hold of this one. Trust me you'll be thanking me later.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: On top there is a very good tall just off white colored head. It is very thick and creamy, long lasting and makes cool rings of lace on the glass after each sip. The body has a slight hazy appearance and a golden amber color.

Smell: The aroma is full of sweet malt and pine resin and citrus hops.

Taste/Mouth Feel: The flavor hits you with a full bodied punch of piney, resiny and citrus hops balanced by thick sweet malt and sweet warming brandy like alcohol. It finishes with more herbal and piney bitterness. The palate has a smooth mellow carbonation with a smooth slick almost sticky texture.

Notes: I'm not a big hop head but this is a hop bomb that I can get into. It is big, bold and very tasty.

This is a great beer - strong bite and hoppy flavors. It certainly does have a bit more alcohol that normal IPAs so don't look to drink a lot in a short time.

The beer is a bit more expensive than others - but it is higher quality and better tasting than others you will find in the same niche.

A very balanced but boastful IPA. Not too intese as the 120 but right in line with what a strong IPA should be. Loads of hops casting off a nice oaky citrus bite with a bitter/dry finish. Good healthy color with a nice light head.
