Commercial Description
Samuel AdamsĀ® Cream Stout is a true cream stout, balancing body and sweetness with the natural spiciness of grain and hand selected English hops. Our Brewers use generous portions of roasted chocolate and caramel malts as well as unroasted barley to impart a fullness of body, a roasty malt character and rich, creamy head. Its dark mahogany color make it almost as easy on the eyes as it is on the palate.

Pours up a rich black body with a nice frothy head that leaves good lacing on the glass while you drink. Warms scents of robust coffee, toffee, caramel and roasted malts. Rich tastes of the roasted malts and coffee/caramel. The body is velvety smooth with light carbonation. Tastes best when it's not so cold. A very nice cream stout indeed! Would serve as a great dessert brew!

[Best served in an English pint]

Poured dark brown with a large creamy light brown head that lasted throughout and had excellent lacing. The aroma was quite light of roasted dark chocolate malts, and earthy yeast with notes of coffee and caramel. It tasted very lightly sweet with a mild coffee undertone and had a hint of caramel at first then became mildly bitter with notes of chocolate and coffee at the end. Mouthfeel was medium in body and creamy in texture with a flat carbonation. Overall an OK stout that was extremely drinkable.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. There was a best before date on the label.

Appearance: It has a very dark brow color that is very close to opaque in appearance. On top the head, which is dark tan in color, starts off thick and creamy then slowly settles down to thinner layer that has good retention lasting to the last sip. Its lacing is slick and slides down the glass as I drink.

Smell: The aroma has a big sweet and malty nose with a pleasant roasted character and a touch of chocolate and coffee notes.

Taste/Mouth feel: The taste starts off with a smooth malt flavor that builds a nice roasted character with the same hints of dark chocolate and roasted coffee in the aroma. Hop flavor is mild and adds only a slight metallic/herbal presence. The finish has a nice slow, somewhat dryer roasted coffee fade. On the palate it has a very creamy and smooth feeling. It has soft carbonation and a good solid medium to full body.

Notes: Outstanding!!! This is a very tasty stout with a nice slick creamy texture that I really enjoyed!!!

This is not one of those beers to take and play beer pong, this is more of a dinner table beer that you drink with your father in-law. Also if you are trying trying to impress somebody with your beer knowledge by picking a good beer to go with food, this is a good one. Like most of the other Sam Adams beer its a heavy stout. If you like beer for breakfast...it even has a hint of coffee!
