    [Suggested Glassware: Shaker Glass]

The pour was a clear copper brown with an average (1-2 finger) beige fluffy head that had great retention and possessed really good sheets of streaky lacing.

The aroma was of a sweet biscuit malt, spruce and cascade hops and a sweet doughy yeast with notes of citrus (orange), caramel and a pronounced dark fruit (plum) presence.

The taste was lightly sweet and malty with a note of caramel and a strong fruity presence in the beginning, and then became somewhat hoppy with a nice creamy bitter citrus peel ending. The flavor lasted an average duration following the swallow with a wonderful sweet hoppiness left lying on the taste buds.

Mouthfeel was a bit beyond light in body with a creamy dry texture and a medium carbonation.

Overall this was a very well balanced Pale Ale, with just the right amount of bitterness to go along with the mild fruity sweetness...

Appearance: Dark amber with an off-white head that provided excellent lacing down to the bottom of the glass.
Aroma: A big nose of citrus and florals, the malt fights it way through.
Taste: The flavors of grapefruit and juniper are everywhere, nice malt sweetness to balance the hops, with a big hoppy finish.
Drinkability: Nice balance of flavors and paired nicely with a traditional Hoosier tenderloin.
Notes: Served on tap in a pint glass. Dark atmosphere made it a little difficult to judge appearance.

    C. Super Clear
    H. Dark Carmel in Color
    N. Nose is big on citrusy hops, with a subtle roasty malt nose

Well like every other beer I will have to judge this beer in comparison to other Pale Ales. The label has the Alpha King like bathing in his beer. I think I could bathe in this beer as well. It really is one of the most balanced Pale Ales I have had. The hops are strong on the attack, and the malt backing is strong enough to support it. There is a strong citrus attack, and the beer ends with a nice dry roasty taste on the palette. Category wise, I’d have to say it is pretty damn good!

great copper color with a thin fluffy white head...smelled of floral hops, slightly piney...great mouthfeel, slightly oily with perfect carbonation...taste was great as well, with the underlying floral hop taste with a slight bite at the end...wonderful beer

Isn't it called Alpha King? Perhaps you've had one too many ; ). That said, this is one fine pale ale. Not as hoppy as others I've had.
