Commercial Description

Three Philosophers Quadrupel
Cynics can't believe it, Epicures hail it a sensation, and Pythagoreans just can't add up what makes this luscious blend of rich malty ale and cherry lambic so delightful. It might be the flavor of dark chocolate and cherry cordials; it could be the way it acquires wisdom and grace in the cellar. Maybe it's a conundrum. What's your theory?

The essence of wonder is a unique and masterful blend of strong malty ale and authentic Belgian Kriek. Our philosophers deduce that this powerful marriage of cherries, roasted malts, and dark chocolate will only achieve more wisdom and coherence as it broods in the dark recesses of your cellar.
Try Three Philosophers as:
a delightful accompaniment for roasted meats, rich cheeses, desserts, and for after dinner sipping as with a fine port.

The Cherry Quadzilla is a full bodied Belgian ale. It is amber in color with some red hues. You will notice lots of fruit-like esters and a bread-like maltiness with a lingering c...

I always love this brew! Its a Belgian style Quadruple, blended with a Kriek, Cherry Ale. It pours out dark, and fairly thick. The foam is thick, and just off-white in color. The bubbles continue to surface for what seems like an eternity. Some of the guys even joked about their Bud Lights going flat and warm, while the Ommegang showed plenty of life for long after.

It is rich and malty on the palate, with just a little bit of fruitiness from the cherries. The Three Philosophers is always a mouthful, with notes of so many flavors all at once. I can taste a little hops, tons of malt, cherry, spices, bread/yeastiness, and so much more.

I suppose I'm not a lambic guy myself, but if you take a look at something like Three Philosophers - you better be prepared.

The cherry flavor is overwhelming and it remains on you palate, well after you gulp down (regretfully) your first sip. I will give it credit for have a great appearance and aroma - the taste for me just did not follow.

This is almost a deeply spiritual experience. Savoring the malty cherry experience is just sinful. At $9-$10 dollars a bottle its a bargain. I reccomend this beer to all of my experienced palletted friends. I have had the '08 and the '09. I even found an '08 that had been in the store room gaining complexity. It was delightful! I actually giggled in evil delight!
