Commercial Description

La Fin du Monde has a brilliant golden color with vigorously effervescent foam. It is midly yeasty with a complex palate of malt, fruit and spice notes followed by a smooth, dry finish.

It's the end of the world as we know it... and I feel fine.

La Fin du Monde is an unfiltered golden, creamy, fruity, yeasty bit of yum.

Appearance: Pours a hazy yellow golden color with a creamy head that dissipates to a thin ring a leaves little lacing.
Aroma: The smell of stone fruits, clove, flowers and pepper.
Taste: Lots of fruit and malt meet spice and pepper. A refreshing brew on a hot summer day. The alcohol sneaks up on you, like other brews from Unibroue, but it is cleverly hidden.
Drinkability: I am so glad I decided to pick up the Unibroue sample pack at Trader Joe's. This brew lands just under Maudite.
    Notes: Severed in a chalice.

Just from the look of La Fin Du Monde, the experience had me thinking of champagne with the foil top and the cork. It even smells a bit like champagne and sweet grapes. The color is a delightful, hazy yellow. The taste starts citrusy, then on to grapes, and finishes a bit dry with a spicy, peppery bite. The 9% ABV is present, but not overpowering. This is complex, smooth, and quite enjoyable.

This is by far one of my favorite beers. Drinks incredibly smooth, a wonderfully light bubbly character, and a light airy texture that belies it's abv.

A - Good, small-bubble, head on this slightly hazy golden brew. Fair amount of lacing as well.

S - Good Belgian/Unibroe yeast in full effect. Lots of clove, some fruit and wheat bread.

T - Very nice tripel. Dominated by spicy yeast and the grainy backbone. Some fruitiness as well, and citrus zest, with just a bit of the alcohol burn. Well balanced and intensely flavored.

M - Medium-bodied and highly carbonated. Lighter than other tripels. Smooth.

D - Despite the ABV this drinks easy and seems light and refreshing for the style.
