Commercial Description

A golden unfiltered wheat beer that is truly cloudy and clearly superb. Ever since Widmer introduced Hefeweizen to America in 1986, ours has been the standard by which all other Hefeweizens are judged

Anchor Summer is the first American wheat beer in modern times. Our first brewing of this light and refreshing beer was in the summer of 1984. A spring brew.

[Best served in a Weizen glass]

Poured a hazy medium yellow-amber in color with a small frothy head that was mostly diminishing and had fair lacing. The aroma was of light bready malts, citrus hops and a nice earthy yeast scent. It tasted bitter-sweet in the beginning and had a light hoppy finish that stayed with you for an average duration. Mouthfeel was creamy and medium in body. Overall a decent wheat beer, nice with a slice of lemon.

One of the better Hefeweizen i have had recently. The hazy color and the light aroma really characterize what a hefeweizen should look and taste like
