I use Rebel Brewer a lot, they have some really good ingredient kits, and have very solid prices. Customer Service is good too! FAST SHIPPING!

Well Rebel Brewer has a great selection of a ton of different kits. one of my favorite is the Magic Cat #9 (bet you cant guess what it taste like), and its pretty spot on.
I have tried their APA and IPA kits, both good. If you ask im sure they will not only tell you their best sellers but also cut u a deal on them for the cross-promotion! GREAT COMPANY!

I bought a Mr. Beer kit and it was alright, hard to clean up despite their advertisements that it was easy. Maybe I was just expecting more. The beer was really flat as well, but it was my first time brewing, maybe my fault?
DosBeerigos ehh im not sure about flat, maybe not enough priming sugar in the bottles (not even sure if mr.beer uses priming sugar)
To really get the experience try a basic homebrew kit (check rebelbrewer.com or even ebay) you can make 5 gallons (about 60-65 bottles)
but keep in mind, like cooking the 1st time you do it prb isnt going to be the best. you will get better with time!

DosBeerigos Jay; how much beer does one batch produce from the Mr. Beer kit? Just curious? Also how do you make the your mash? Is it just a powder mixed with water?

Homebrewing was legalized by President Carter in the 70's (Thanks Jimmy!)
I have to imagine Mr Beer uses a powder for the extract. The best homebrewing system is one you build yourself. Morebeer.com is a great site, albeit a little expensive. I've never tried any of their ingredient kits though. Most the fun for me comes in formulating a recipe!

sirk0rebreg I use austin homebrewing for my recipes mostly and they have been great. for supplies i have bought all of them from midwest.
Skip all that junk...buy a book and go to town on craigslist...DIY or die.
I used a Mr Beer for several months before going with a 5 gallon system. Mr Beer was fantastic beer but it only makes 2.13 gallons for about the same price I pay to make 5 gallons. It is not a powder. They have hopped and unhopped LMEs. You put their LMEs in a quart of water after you bring it to a boil then cool and add to the water in your fermenter. Super simple and at $25 for a kit it is a great way to find out if you would enjoy brewing. If it hadn't been for Mr Beer I never would have taken the hobby up.
I do nothing but 5 gallon batches now only because dollar for dollar I get nearly double the beer. But even with partial grain steeps I can't say that my beer is any better now than what I made with Mr Beer ingredients.
DosBeerigos I have seen people use their old Mr. Beer Keg Thingys as Fermentors which allows them to brew 5 gallons and then split the batch to play with different adjuncts
