I am an Athletic Trainer in Missouri. I started home brewing a couple years ago. During my second year I entered my pale ale and rauchbier in a regional competition and took second place with both.
This is an amazing pilsner. Sierra Nevad has done it once again. This is a vey well balanced, crisp pilsner. They take the beer up a step by adding just enough hop to bring out the aroma, but not too much to leave the pilsner category. Excellent "lawnmower" beer!
Nice, full head. Pleasant aroma, slightly toasty. Not much hop aroma. Black in color. Very smooth and not too heavy. One of my favorites for New Belgium.
Nice fruity esters. Some banana flavoring is apparent. Pleasant mouth feel, some alcohol warming, but not too much. Nice balance of malt and hops for a trippel.
