I was completely and totally underwhelmed by this lager. It has a very strong hops flavor, sort of a sneak attack that belies the look and aroma of a lager. I was greatly disappointed with this beer's flavor overall.
It's a simple beer, a very middle of the road sort of beverage. Not too hoppy, not too bland. Smooth, but little taste remaining. Not memorable but not dreadful either.
Cetainly not a candidate for a first choice, but on the whole a steady ale with a nice, but not great color and aroma. Probably a solid candidate to blend with Guinness Stout if nothing else. Solid ale and I would say to if you're buying.
A marvelous warm flavor that bursts forth with the first drink, and lasts through to the last swallow. With a terrific, yet not overpowering aroma, it is a stellar Ale and well worth tracking down.
Unfortunately I cannot get too excited about this beer. Too trendy tasting, and who puts chocolate in beer? Really? You've got to be kidding. Not an enjoyable beer for me.
The first beer I ever really loved, before I grew up, that is. It is still a solid go-to pale lager but isn't one of those beers I hunt down. Good, American beer.
This falls into the category of "I'll drink it if it is free" and that is the only time it would ever be consumed by me and only if there was no other choice. Truly wretched stuff.
One of those regional beers that makes it worthwhile to go to that area. Nothing great, but certainly a drinkable beer and worth having every so often.
