I started seriously tasting and reviewing beer during fall of 2009 after tasting, about a year earlier, in november 2008, a Gouden Carolus Cuvee Van De Keizer Rood. This was a decisive moment because it was the first time I enjoyed a high quality beer and it triggered a long hidden passion.

I have the chance to live in Qu├ębec, where the microbrewery industry is flourishing exponentially and I wish to use Beer Universe to promote our products and give people good reasons to travel over here and have a beer!

I was fortunate enough to lay my hands on more than 350 labels from over 20 countries so far, and I keep discovering new products everytime I can. I have a preference for Abts, Belgian Strong Dark Ales and Imperial Russian Stouts but I also enjoy discovering new beers of any style from around the world.

My ambition is to try out as many beers I can in the next 40 years.

I also like pairing beer and foods or better yet, incorporate beer in any given recipe to boost up flavours in stews and casseroles.

Hazy pale coat with a vivid head. Nice aroma of ginger and coriander. The taste is dry and bold with good yeast. Paired with just a sip of orange juice and served ice cold, this white is a perfect addition to a nice summer day.

Very happy to try this one out (finally)! The robe is clear pouring a warm brown shade with very deep ruby highlights topped with a creamy beige head. The nose is smoky and spicy and also has a very nice sweetness with grapes and even a little floral side. To be honest, I'm not a great fan of very sweet beers (usually) with a certain smokiness, but this one has just the right amount of sweetness from the fruits like cherries and grapes and enough hops to balance it out and be very pleasant on the tongue. Excellent served between 8 and 12 degrees.

Skunky nose, smooth head over a pale yellow robe. I found it to be too malty and dilluted. A cheap beer with no body or structure.

Nose of medium intensity with something I can't seem to put my finger on in the back. On the tongue it's bitter and salty. A little crispness balances it all out pretty well, Not an awesome beer but very drinkable.

Nice pale robe with a medium sparkle topped by a very thin foaming. Very (very, very) light lager with no after taste, low sweetness and bitterness.

I like its fraguant nose and complex taste (herbs, pepper and a full malt taste) . Not only was this beer on the shelves when my dad drank Dow back in the 70s but it's still a very good buy since it is a cheap, yet very appreciable product.

Hazy golden pour with loads of carbs topped by a finely structured head showing good retention. Lacing is also very nice. The nose is very delicate with notes of caramel, lemon, honey and yeasts. The taste is excellent with a great fruity presence of the yeast delivering apples and pears paired with a dense contribution of floral hops. The mouthfeel is sharp, lightly acidic and dense which I found very enjoyable. Overall this one is a must for anyone who enjoys well-crafted beers.

I found this one less interesting since to me this is a fancy version of a typical american ale found in all over my country. The nose is skunky and the taste is malty and acidic with a powerful metallic backbone. Really not a fan, but one more try up my sleeve.
