I think flying dog is a pretty sweet brewery with some great products, but I didn't like this beer as much as I thought I would. I still give it a good rating because it is quality, but it doesn't make my list of top pale ales. 2 pts for having a sweet label, -5 for overpromising and underdelivering.
I strongly disagree. Stag is definitely the best cheap beer made, and i would take a warm stag over a cold miller light or coors light any day of the week. I have a soft spot for anheuser busch products, so i can't say it beats busch and natty, but is definitely always a consideration. Plus, holding that can you can't help but feel like serious alphamale.
I'm not a big fan of the western shores of the US, but there are definitely some great beers being brewed out that way. Anchor Steam is one of them and a good prop if you want to compete for the job of being the most interesting man in the world.
I first found this beer when I had just turned 21 and was looking for a blue moon and offered this as a substitute. It's slightly different, but definitely a solid choice if you're looking for a wheat. recommend it.
312 is your typical wheat, but the fact that goose island makes it is definitely an added plus. I would recommend stopping by their brewpub in Chicago to check out some of the other seasonals after warming up with one of these.
Blue Moon is good, but I feel the same way about it as I do Bud Light these days. They don't have a good story and in the craft beer world if you don't have that you're way behind. Nice job Coors, but I think I'll look elsewhere for my wheat beers. Or belgian whites...
By far my favorite beer. Fat Tire has been aggressively moving East the past few years and I think they're available just about everywhere these days. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
I love raspberries as much as the next guy, but I think one of these is my limit. Abita makes great beer, but I think the brewer was in a haze whenever he made this one. But, to each his own. I'll stick with something else.
