This beer isn't at all similar to what I usually enjoy, but- it is still good. Lovers of IPAs and all things hoppy will surely enjoy this. The aroma is nice and planty, even a bit skunky. Poured into a glass, this beer produces a nice lacy head and displays a clear, golden-yellow hue. The flavor is bitter due to the hops, and I wish it was more balanced out by some sweeter malt notes. Hop lovers will probably love this however. Not exactly my favorite, however. Despite the flavor being a bit too hop-oriented for my personal tastes, this beer finishes well. The mouth-feel is pretty medium here; this beer isn't at all thick but it also isn't watery. A solid beer overall, but if you don't enjoy hoppy beers like Sam Adam's Latitude 48 etc, then this probably won't rank high on your list. Hop lovers should imbibe, however.

I love Gainesville. And I love beer. And Stubbies has by far the best selection of brews in town. I've first tried many of my favorites here- they atmosphere is jolly and sort of...European in a way since they have expanded into the larger room. A great place to start or even end the night. Everyone who works there can recommend you drinks in a friendly way based on what you like, since the menu can be a bit...overwhelming in its depth. No complaints, top rating.

Wow! Now THIS is a serious beer.

The heaviness of this drink begins with the smell. Hints (HUGE hints) of molasses and toffee are a joy to sniff. It pours rather flatly- not much head, but a dark, opaque mahogany color.

The flavor is unparalleled. If you like malty beer this is a winner. Molasses is the primary taste, yet this isn't too bitter for my personal liking.

My only complaint with this beer is the mouth feel. It is THICK. You feel like you're swallowing a mouthful of syrup when this goes down. But, for all that flavor it is to be expected.

A great beer to have 1-2 of, but don't plan on killing them all night. Very difficult to find here in the US and not cheap, but worth a sampling for any lover of a serious dark beer. Amazing stuff!

I rate this highly since it's...Malt Liquor. Sure, it isn't even really 'beer' and is difficult to enjoy.

But- At 8.2% ABV it tastes way better than the equivalently potent Steel Reserve.

Do not but this if you want a good beer. It isn't. But, considering the cost (1.75 for a quart) and the strength (it ruins your day), the value and surprisingly acceptable smell, look, and taste make this an okay choice for those of us on a budget with a need to seriously attack some stress. A wonderfully disgusting drink.

Overall this beer deserves more credit than my ratings show.Factoring in price makes this beer fantastic. It's essentially Bud Light but near half the cost. If it weren't for the extreme affordability, however, this beer would have little to stand up for.

The aroma is straw like yet stinky. Not at all pleasurable. It's nearly as clear as water, but it finishes smoothly. The flavor is hardly anything to even mention...come on...it's no secret that this beer sucks on taste.

Bottom line though- people on a budget (mostly college kids) love this stuff because of its watery character, ridiculously low price, and relatively high alcohol content compared to other beers this light.
