Awesome place tucked away in the beautiful NC Mountains. Great in-house beers and a large selection of quality beers from other breweries - big and small. Awesome menu selection and two fully stocked bars.
First had this in 2011 while on a cross country Harley trip. Visited a good friend in Lyons, Co and we went to a local joint that served this - fell in love and now I can get it in in NC. You bet there is a 6 pack in the fridge at all times. Great beer to sit by the pool with. Wish it had a little more hop bite to it, but then again, that is a totally different beer....
Classic beer and really good in a frosted (not just cold) glass. I have found that for some reason this beer tastes better with a bowl of clam chowder in San Fran than anywhere else - might just be an environment thing......
One of my favorite lagers from Ontario. I fell in love with this beer during my many travels to Toronto and have even worked up a clone recipe that I brew at home that is close but still not quite there. This is always on my to drink list when I am North of the border.
I am a big fan of hopped up beers and was excited to try this one. First few tastes were good but after about the third sip I found that the high hop content and high gravity made this a little too much for what I was in the mood for. I held the glass to the light and could see good sized particles suspended in the beer which was a little bit of a turn off. I will certainly give this one another try on another day and hope that this review does not keep anyone from trying this heavy brew.
