Brewed with two barley malts and five varieties of American hops, Red Dog is a bold, yet uncommonly smooth beer. Golden in color, Red Dog is a full-flavored lager with medium body and crisp, refreshing finish.

I poured this one from a 16oz can into a pint glass. The color was a very pale yellow. [The dog is red not the beer] It formed a small head that quickly faded out. Red Dog has a light malt smell of cornflakes and hay. The palate is light and thin with light cereal like malt favor. At a little over three bucks for a six-pack of 16oz cans this one is good if you are really low on cash. It's also good at putting out the fire of an extra hot taco. LOL

In the state of Michigan a 30-pack costs $12 including deposit - that's really bad. The only beer worse than Red Dog is warm Red Dog.

The taste of this heavenly delight actually isn't half bad. It has more flavor than Natural or Keystone light but less than Bud Light and way less than Miller light. It has a hint of hoppiness in the aftertaste. It even has somewhat of a sweet taste to it, but not chocolaty like most heavy ale's that are sweet. There is a bitter aftertaste that goes away fairly quick. Unless you keep drinking, then you might turn into the bitter beer face guy!
